WP Recipe Maker – How to Add a Recipe Card to a Blog Post
There are two ways to add a recipe card to your blog post:
- Create the recipe first under Manage, then insert it into your post.
- Create the recipe directly inside the post editor while you’re writing.
Both methods use the WP Recipe Maker block. Watch the video above or follow along to the guide below. Here’s how each option works:
Option 1: Create the Recipe Under “Manage” and Insert It into a Blog Post
- From your WordPress dashboard, hover over WP Recipe Maker and click Manage.
- Click Create Recipe in the top right corner. Fill out the details for your recipe.
- When finished, click Save and then Close. Your recipe will now appear in your list of recipes.
- To add it to a blog post, go to Posts > Add New (or edit an existing post).
- Inside the post editor, type a forward slash + recipe ( /recipe ) to search for the WPRM Recipe block.
- Select the WPRM Recipe block to insert it.
- Choose Insert Existing Recipe, then select the recipe you created.
- The recipe card will be added to your post.
- You can click Edit Recipe (off to the right) if you need to make any changes.
Option 2: Create a Recipe Directly in the Blog Post
- Open the post where you want to add your recipe.
- Add a new block, search for Recipe, and select the WP Recipe Maker block.
- Instead of choosing an existing recipe, click Create New Recipe.
- Fill out the recipe details right in the post editor.
- Save and close, then refresh the block selector if needed. Your new recipe will now appear in the list and can be inserted into the post.
